DESCRIPTION:# Overview\nShiny is an open-source R package that allows build
 ing interactive web applications from R\, and without knowledge of web-dev
 elopment\, enabling data scientists to make their data or analysis interac
 tively explorable and accessible to colleagues\, end-users\, and/or for pu
 blication.\n\nIn this course\, we will introduce the R Shiny framework\, a
 nd equip R programmers with the basic tools to build and deploy their own 
 web apps.\n\n# Audience\nLife scientists\, bioinformaticians\, and any R u
 sers who are interested in developing an interactive web application to co
 mmunicate their data or analysis to other non-programmers.\n\n# Learning o
 bjectives\nAt the end of the course\, the participants will be able to:\n*
  describe Shiny framework structure: server and user interface \n* create 
 their own Shiny applications\n* edit existing Shiny applications available
   in the Gallery\n* use various built-in input widgets\n* use R scripts an
 d data embedded in Shiny web application\n* illustrate reactive expression
 s\n* share Shiny applications and learn different deployment strategies\n\
 n\n# Prerequisites\n#### Knowledge / competencies\n\nThis course is design
 ed for advanced R programmers\; participants should have experience in pro
 gramming in R\, equivalent to at least the combination of the SIB courses 
 “First steps with R”  (Knowledge of functions and loops in R). [Test y

 ewform)\n\n\n#### Technical\nYou will need a computer with the latest vers
 ions of [R](https://www.r-project.org/) and [RStudio](https://www.rstudio.
 com/products/rstudio/download/)  installed. \n\n# Application\n\n\nThe reg
 istration fees are **100 CHF** for academics and **500 CHF** for companies
 .\n\nWhile participants are registered on a first come\, first serve basis
 \, exceptions may be made to ensure diversity and equity.\n\nYou will be i
 nformed by email of your registration confirmation. Upon reception of the 
 confirmation email\, participants will be asked to confirm attendance by p
 aying the fees within 5 days.\n\nDeadline for free-of-charge cancellation 
 is set to **08/04/2024**. Cancellation after this date will not be reimbur

 n# Venue and Time\nThis course will be streamed. The course will start at
