DESCRIPTION:## Overview\nThe FAIR (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable an
 d Reusable) principles provide guidelines for making research data and oth
 er resources more easily discoverable and reusable\, which can help increa
 se your research's impact and exposure. Adhering to these principles also 
 ensures that your research is more reliable and reproducible\, as others c
 an more easily access and provide feedback. In addition\, making your rese
 arch FAIR can promote the principles of open science and make it easier fo
 r others to contribute to and build upon your work. Finally\, many funding
  agencies and journals now expect that your research outputs be made FAIR 
 as a condition of funding or publication\, so adhering to these principles
  can help to ensure that your research meets these requirements.\n\nSharin
 g and reusing data\, software\, and documentation is essential to the FAIR
  principles and should be a routine task for scientists. Researchers can a
 chieve this by providing all necessary information (data\, software and pa
 rameters used\, scripts for the analysis\, databases and their versions) a
 nd using markdown to create a single file that can be easily shared as a w
 eb page.\n\n## Audience\nThis course is designed for PhD students\, postdo
 ctoral and other researchers and trainers in the life sciences from both a
 cademia and industry who want to learn how to make their research and trai
 ning FAIRer with reproducible notebooks and websites.\n\n## Learning outco
 mes\nIn this course\, participants will learn tools and concepts to take s
 ignificant steps towards adhering to the FAIR principles\, which will enha
 nce the benefits of sharing and collaboration in research. More specifical
 ly\, at the end of the course\, participants should be able to:\n* **Creat
 e** notebooks and websites based on Markdown\, and Python or R with Quarto
 \n* **Use** Git and GitHub to version control the generated content\n* **H
 ost** a website by making use of GitHub actions and GitHub pages\n* **Link
 ** the GitHub repository to Zenodo and give it a unique identiﬁer (DOI)\
 n\n## Prerequisites\n##### Knowledge / competencies\nThis course is design
 ed for users having an introductory level in programming with R or Python.
  \n\nTo get the most out of this course\, participants should meet the lea
 rning outcomes of the [First Steps with R in Life Sciences](http://sib.swi
 ss/training/course/FSWRR) or the [First Steps with Python in Life Sciences
 ](https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/FSWPY) courses.\n\n##### Technical
 \nParticipants should have a GitHub account and have accesss to a computer
  with either the latest versions of RStudio or VSCode pre-installed.\n\n##
  Application\nThe registration fees for academics are **100 CHF** and **50
 0 CHF** for for-profit companies.\n\nWhile participants are registered on 
 a first come\, first served basis\, exceptions may be made to ensure diver
 sity and equity\, which may increase the time before your registration is 
 confirmed.\n\nApplications will close on **24/06/2026** or as soon as the 
 places will be filled up. Cancellation after **24/06/2026** will not be re
 imbursed. Please note that participation in SIB courses is subject to our

 e informed by email of your registration confirmation. Upon reception of t
 he confirmation email\, participants will be asked to confirm attendance b

 rse will be streamed. \n\nThe course will start at 9:00 and end around 17:
